THE TEAM

Leadership Roles

The volunteers who keep Profits in the Park running each week. Here’s what each role is responsible for. To see who currently holds each seat, visit the Members page.

Every member is also expected to arrive on time, stay for the whole meeting, bring referrals and visitors, and keep up their 1-2-1s. On attendance we run more flexibly than most: three absences, three substitutes, and three Zoom attendances in any rolling six months. We’re the only Triangle BNI chapter that lets you join by Zoom. The full list is on the Letter of Intent.

President

Runs the weekly meeting to BNI’s agenda and chairs the monthly Leadership Team meeting. Sets chapter goals with the team, appoints the leadership team, represents the chapter at BNI’s regional leadership meetings, and is the main line to the chapter’s BNI Director.

Vice President

Chairs the Membership Committee and runs the meeting when the President is out. Tracks the chapter’s stats (one-to-ones, referrals, closed business, and attendance) and submits the weekly PALMS report. Casts the tie-breaker vote on membership decisions.

Secretary / Treasurer

Processes new and renewal applications with the BNI region, maintains the chapter bank account, collects and pays facility dues, keeps the financial records, and manages the weekly speaker schedule.

Membership Committee (3)

Reviews and processes every new and renewal application, interviews applicants, gathers member feedback, and keeps an eye on attendance and engagement. Every applicant is approved unanimously, and renewals now require the committee’s sign-off; the Vice President steps in on conflicts.

Education Committee (2)

Delivers a 2-5 minute education moment each week, drawing on BNI’s training resources, to help members sharpen their networking and get more out of the chapter.

Visitor Hosts (3-4)

Arrive early to welcome guests and subs, sign everyone in, check visitors for classification overlap, introduce them during the meeting, share their contact info with the group, and send a thank-you after each visit.

Mentor

Makes sure every new member is paired with a mentor and supported through their first weeks, and works one-on-one with any member who wants extra guidance to s쳮d in BNI.

Event Coordinator (1-2)

Helps the President plan and run the chapter’s events through the year, Visitor Days, socials, and the occasional happy hour, golf outing, or mixer.
